About Us
Hi, I'm Glenn Farrell my wife Heidi and I have been operating our family business Avalon Air for 22 years on Sydney's Northern Beaches. We are reliable, prompt, take pride in our workmanship, use quality products and have a friendly team working with us. This is why most of our business comes from referrals and you may have spotted our vehicles in your suburb.
I learned my trade both on the job and by gaining a formal air conditioner installer and refrigeration mechanic qualification from the Ultimo Technical College.
One of my first jobs was working for a large pharmaceutical company where I began building air conditioners from scratch to ensure they met with the high hygiene standards required by the customer! So, I really got to understand the ins and outs of air conditioners.
I started Avalon Air in 2000 and we have been installing air conditioning heating and cooling systems in homes, semi commercial and new homes under construction on the Northern Beaches, north shore, eastern suburbs and Sydney.
As our company name indicates, we're located in Avalon on the northern beaches.
Our friendly and professional team of air conditioning installers includes:
• 2 licensed ac installers
• A licensed refrigeration mechanic
• An electrician
• A mechanical engineer
Always Striving for High Quality
Being a family business and very much engaged in the local community, it's important for us to deliver excellent, reliable air conditioning and heating advice and service. And as our many customers will verify, we regularly achieve this aim.
Part of our success is due to only installing high quality air conditioner products. We've learnt the hard way, that it doesn't pay to cut corners by installing a cheaper product, even if it appears cheaper in the short run.
For example, we once agreed to install an air conditioning unit that our customer had purchased cheaply on the internet. I did warn the customer that the product was an obsolete model and wasn't covered by a manufacturer's warranty.
However, the customer had already purchased the product, so to help out we installed the system.
Unfortunately, a few months later it broke down. We had to buy new parts and it ended up costing the client triple the purchase price of a new!
Keeping Up To Date
What I enjoy about this work is that every job is different. Each house requires a slightly different design. I love meeting new customers and working with you to design a system to suit your unique situation.
Currently, one of the fastest changing areas in the air conditioning industry is in the computerised and automated system controllers.
These are becoming more and more sophisticated. It's a challenge keeping up, but it's fun too!
My air conditioner suppliers help with this, making sure we get the education we need to remain current.
